Week 8.
Note: I have uploaded grades to BlackBoard. These include your Informal Writing through the first 5 weeks of class, and your work so far on Project 1 (Abstract and Draft). Please review, and let me know if you’ve spotted any discrepancies.

Submission Guidelines
— email your paper to me with the following subject line: LastName Project 1 (ie. Meehan Project 1)
— follow the same format when saving your file on your computer so the name of your file is also LastName Project 1
— be sure to save your file as either a Word Document (.doc) or as Rich Text (.rtf) - Peer Review
Due Thursday
Watch the video tutorial on how to mark up your classmate’s paper. Use this rubric as a guide for your comments.
Notes
I really enjoyed listening to your podcasts again this week. Many of you addressed a question either directly or indirectly that I plan on asking you to address explicitly sometime in the future: How do we convey emotion on a computer? Start thinking about that one.
Two important notes:
- Many students are mixing the music track too loud, making it nearly impossible to hear the content of their podcast. It’s important that when you begin speaking, the music fades into the background so it does not compete with your voice.
- It is clear that some of the podcasts are not scripted, and instead, many of you are “shooting from the hip.” I want you to view these podcasts as pieces of writing, which means they should be carefully crafted and revised.
P.S.
Please, please, please follow the submission guidelines listed above carefully. It takes me a long time to grade your papers, and your adherence to the submission guidelines ensures that I keep your files organized. To reiterate: LastName Project 1 in the subject line of your email to me; LastName Project 1 for the filename (ie. Meehan Project 1.doc); proper heading on top of paper; file saved as .doc or .rtf.
